Still alive - post PhD (hooray) working on corrections. On a happier note check out schlosseberbach.com for latest fun work with the rest of the iron work team on From Eroica with love scanlations.

Its been awhile. I'm not dead, just busy - no motivation whatsoever and who thinks its a good idea to give 4th year students 3rd year modules?
On a happier note if i get a 2.i this year i spend the next 3.5 yrs in the outskirts of london...a doctorate is my first step in taking over the world.

I pity my poor supervisor to be.

Bill Bailey is fantastic. He was performing "tinselworm" tonight at the hallam fm arena and I was there!

God, that man is funny :D

And now, my favourite quote (out of a great many more) from the night

"There is an abandoned barn in one of the wide corners of your soul, and within it lives the tiny mouse of racism, and the BNP want to find it and feed it the cheese of misinformation..."

*loves*

Anyway, 10 o;clock start and cell electrophysiology for 2 hours tomorrow. so I'm off to bed.

Journal club exams been rescheduled for next Tuesday afternoon, S was really annoyed, she misses part of J's graduation ceremony. Its such a pity.
Also, i now have bags under my eyes from getting to sleep at half four this morning and getting up at 8.30, apparently four hours of sleep just isn't enough, but when i tried to nap - nothing :( I will just have to sleep properly tonight.

Also, you know you love your course when you find a journal title " Hedgehog signalling from the ZLI regulates diencephalic regional identity" really interesting as opposed to just mad. *hee* one of our best lecturers at uni discovered Shh. Life is so cool.

Argh! Okay, I'm 20, why is this suddenly a reason to start having crushes on guys again?  Its driving me mad, and its horribly, incredibly awkward.  *bangs head against wall*  I really hope they're gonna sort themselves out soon :(

On a much brighter note, I've now knitted a lovely bright scarf thats longer than I'm tall, admittedly I'm not very tall, it doesn't seem to be in my poor genes to be blessed w/ height, but its still very cool. It just needs finishing off and tassels put on, then it will turn into my housemate C's xmas present.

Oh, and this is just for Secret Garden, University life, whilst undoubtedly interesting and varied, gets busy in third year, although its wonderful to read journal papers, and see the very forefront of research. *snickers* its even better when  I suddenly have a three day shopping weekend because the entire University is closed due to a powercut!

Ah, I seem to lead quite a boring life these days...
On the plus side, I've fallen madly in love with Colonel Roy Mustang er, that is Fullmetal Alchemist and the wonderful talented writers, sky_dark and cryogenia in particular. Also, mishmisha (icon pic!) is much better after being taken to the vets and is back to normal :D
On the down
1) no job D: = no money until september damn NHS and all
2) still at home + thinner elder sister + younger brother + parents = antisocial!me
3) started again after four weeks of freedom

I never thought I'd say this, but damn, I wish university would start soon I start in October...oh uni, how i miss thee!

Oh eta: has anyone got the playlist for Seiken Densetsu 2 (聖剣伝説2) that is, Secret of Mana in english, particularly that one tune, right at the end with the re-awakening of the Mana Fortress, once on the worldmap on Flammie's back...its so good....,

...I have to say, I'm actually quite disappointed, and worried with relation to the "schizophrenic" part, I really need to go look up the actual definition of that, also note to self - must read that book.

You're The Poisonwood Bible!
by Barbara Kingsolver
Deeply rooted in a religious background, you have since become both isolated and schizophrenic. You were naively sure that your actions would help people, but of course they were resistant to your message and ultimately disaster ensued. Since you can see so many sides of the same issue, you are both wise beyond your years and tied to worthless perspectives. If you were a type of waffle, it would be Belgian.

I'm really enjoying dabbling in the sand pit that is everyone's (who's watched it and commented!) reactions to Doctor Who's Utopia episode.  Personally, I dislike the way RTD writes the Doctor's emotions at certain parts, and the music was a little overdone at certain scenes, but it was great to welcome john barrowman back onto the tv screen, and it certainly seems to be inspiring a truly great amount of wonderful fic.

Life has gone through the washer, now I feel like i'm hanging on the metaphorical radiator waiting to get dry, I've got a week ish of a hopefully quiet life with my parents, then I'm off to prepare to move, then exams, training and writeup. Here's hoping life doesn't do anything to send me reeling.

Oh, and I'm off to see Bill Bailey perform live in November. It promises to be a brilliant night

I feel like such an idiot....and well, kinda sick and panicky which is stupid because there's no actual reason for me to feel sick and panicky i just well, do.
I think I've lost the X-Tv stuff I was planning on buying off zoeysales, but i'm not sure, its all in Gods' hands anyway but life has just been so hectic recently with church duties and chasing information down and now well I don't know. anyway

Oh, nekojita, sorry i forgot to mention this earlier, but thanks for your offer of acting as an inbetween w/posting issues etc.  I need to stop forgetting things like that or procrastinating so much.

I hope things get better soon.

So, metesin, your LiveJournal reveals...

You are... 8% unique (blame, for example, your interest in reno/rood) and 8% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy cats). When it comes to friends you are lonely. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

Your overall weirdness is: 27

(The average level of weirdness is: 27.
You are weirder than 61% of other LJers.)

So, on a scale of 1 to 10 how scary is the USA likely to be to a full time UK resident? Only I'm getting sick of all these incredible shops/people that don't post to the UK - we're not that far away surely...?

er, nekojita, I know I'm being really presumptious here, but if <ljuser=joeysales> doesn't want to post X - The TV series here to my greedy self, can you mediate i'd pay for all the shipping *puppy dog eyes* only its all kinds of awkward trying to download the torrent as its not there...

Also, 1) thanks for reccing the anime sale and 2) glad you're having fun

Did I mention my laptop was dying yet? *pets laptop* I'm not sure how long the poor guy will last, thank God that I found a nice cheap place to rent next year.

Oh yeah! My degree *grins* I'm doing a Masters in Neuroscience.  Can I claim a science geek title yet?

So, Its been 2 weeks and three exams later.  I am not pleased, you know how it is when you're life just stops, and everyday is a struggle?
I had a Cell Signalling exam today that went pretty badly so me and S bought biscuits and made tea and chatted and now we're revising for yet *another* neuroscience module this time how the brain affects behavious as opposed to neuro-anatomy...its tomorrow afternoon, then on Friday is the second Developmental Biology module, only this time its not neural developmental biology, its just plain everything else...rant rant rant...

So, I have three more exams to go and they all finish on monday...I'm going to go shopping
